Once again this year, Radio Tay’s Cash for Kids are running a Christmas Appeal to ensure that the hundreds of underprivileged children in our local area have a Christmas to remember.
It is a sad fact that many hundreds of children across Tayside & North East Fife are unlikely to celebrate Christmas in the traditional way. Worse still, there are kids out there who don’t expect to receive a gift on Christmas morning.
The Scottish Deer Centre in Cupar is supporting the appeal this year by providing their premises as a drop off point for gifts and toys.
Cash for Kids Manager, Lynda Curran, said “From now until the week before Christmas we will be asking people to donate a new, unwrapped gift for a child between 0-18 years. Any type of gift would be fantastic, from toys for younger children to gift vouchers and toiletries etc. for older kids. Last year over 1100 children were referred to us by local groups, social work departments and other organisations working directly with underprivileged kids in Tayside. Around £40,000 worth of toys and gifts were donated. We are hoping to keep the magic of Christmas alive for even more this year.”
Lynda added “For further details, please get in touch with Lynda or Alison on Dundee 200800. |
